Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can be a fantastic source of damage or more AD or even more attaches.
Rare-grade equipment is often superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to the highest upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. upgrade item has a distinct impact. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade as indicated in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, and are shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant increases in stats and are well worth the investment.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level can increase its defense values. However, it will also decrease its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The added defense typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms have upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the risk of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration to cause more damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a certain number of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. In the past you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a set amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased level of rarity. You could continue to do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which upgrades would reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear that has minimal upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a chance at gaining you the best tier of bonuses and blessings.
To level up quicker, players usually be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to make them more powerful as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will increase its utility when accompanied by biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, where you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a table. The higher the grade of the jewel has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it will give different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
The Jeweler can craft all tiers of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones that you must attain an appropriate level to obtain. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped with another identical jewel without destroying the original one. However you can only swap out a jewel in an item of equipment once.
It is common to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These are a small perk and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis and traits, are not swappable, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket players can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but useful bonus in movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they can get amulets, rings, and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also compensate for the absence of good slots in the team or talent tree which are usually filled by the hero's optimal stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats you wish to upgrade, since it's generally better to upgrade just one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players however will pick either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have an impact on the hero's ability to manage the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. They can be obtained through completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing the main quest of a chapter or beating an opponent. You can see them by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
